Aloha Chicken Sausage Tropical Topping

The perfect topping for our Aloha Chicken Sausage, whether you’re grilling for a crowd or yourself! Serves 4

Ingredients
  • 1 onion (chopped)
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1/2 red bell pepper (chopped)
  • 2-3 tbsp crushed pineapple (drained)
  • a few grates of fresh ginger
  • 1/2 tsp agave
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1/2 tsp brown sugar*
  • a drizzle of olive oil
  • salt/pepper to taste.
Instructions
  1. Over medium-high heat, drizzle a little olive oil in a small pan.
  2. Once heated up, add onion and garlic to pan. Cook a few minutes until fragrant.
  3. Next, add pepper, pineapple and ginger, stirring to incorporate. Cook for a few minutes until pepper pieces are tender.
  4. While that cooks, in a small mixing bowl combine agave, soy sauce and brown sugar (can omit sugar if desired).
  5. Slightly reduce heat, then add soy sauce mixture to pan, stirring continuously to ensure everything gets well coated, etc.
  6. Cook until sauce starts to thicken, then remove from heat.
  7. Top your cooked Aloha Sausages with a generous amount of topping, sprinkle with salt/pepper to taste, and enjoy immediately!
